Jobs Description :

 The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”), a non – aligned, independent, and non-governmental organization that works to promote and protect democracy and respect for human rights –primarily   civil and political rights – throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia, is seeking dynamic and professional Cambodians to fill the following positions for the Promoting and Protecting Freedom of Expression and Independent Media in Cambodia Project for 26 months.


Position: Project Coordinator
Salary rank$1,000 - $1,300 gross per month depending on qualifications and professional experience and with other benefits.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and the day-to-day running of all aspects of planning, implementing and monitoring of the project, and ensure all project outcomes are met;
  • Develop effective working relationships and engage with different stakeholders;
  • Coordinate training and events of the project;
  • Take lead on advocacy and campaign as set in the project objectives;
  • Coordinate and develop evidence based advocacy relating to freedom of expression/independent media at both the local and international level;
  • Coordinate on the cases supports to the project beneficiaries;
  • Report on the progress of the Project;
  • Effectively manage the Project team;
  • Keep highly organized records of cases and budgets;
  • Represent CCHR at meetings and events; and
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Management Committee and the organization.

Job Requirment :

 

  • Relevant university degree (or equivalent) in social sciences, and human rights or law; 
  • At least two years of professional experience focusing exclusively on project management experience, preferably with projects related to the fundamental rights, media and/or law and human rights;
  • Demonstrated interest in freedom of expression, media, and/or human rights defenders;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Khmer and English;
  • Knowledge of international and domestic law related to civil and political rights, and strong knowledge of the Cambodian judicial system;
  • Strong computer literacy (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, of the Internet and email);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be decisive, to delegate but also to empower subordinates, and the ability to work in a team as well as independently;
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prepare and monitor the timely implementation of project work plans and ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with a variety of individuals from different cultural or social backgrounds and holding different views; and
  • Demonstrated public speaking ability and advocacy skills.
